Kara Frazier Perlman: Technical Manager, Strategic Communications, Management Systems International
Alaina supported the management of MSI’s social media channels from September to November 2022, including developing written content, creating accompanying graphics, and monitoring social media metrics. She also supported the development and execution of short social media campaigns, including the promotion of MSI’s fall career fair attendance, the rollout of MSI’s new Internships webpage, and MSI’s commemoration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Alaina worked with me to develop the campaign schedule, draft posts and accompanying graphics, schedule posts for publication, and monitor social media metrics. She also compiled analytics on the campaigns and developed post-campaign reports that were shared with MSI leadership and staff.
Alaina brought creative energy and new ideas to her work, particularly on the short social media campaigns for the fall career fairs and the Internships webpage. Her knowledge and experience as an intern and soon-to-be early career professional helped shape the language that would hopefully resonate with our target audience (i.e., others like her!).
Throughout her time with us, Alaina remained eager to pitch in and jump in on additional tasks as needed. Our fast-paced, busy team appreciated her positive, can-do attitude. Alaina was a pleasure to work with, and her support was crucial to balancing the workload of an extremely busy Communications team. I highly recommend her!

Amanda O'Rourke: Public Relations Manager, Susquehanna University
It’s unusual to come across a student employee as eager to take the reigns as Alaina. I hired Alaina as a student writer when she was a first-year student at Susquehanna University. She started, as all of my student writers do, by writing press releases to promote university events. But it quickly became clear that Alaina could do much more. She quickly progressed to writing feature stories both for our website and magazines.
By the beginning of her final year at Susquehanna (Alaina graduated one year early.), Alaina was pitching me stories. Most notably, she proposed we do a series highlighting Women in STEM. I took her up on her offer, and she created a six-part series of profiles on several of our female faculty members in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The stories were published to the university’s website and promoted in the university’s bi-weekly e-newsletter Inside Susquehanna, as well as across multiple university-affiliated social media platforms and in the university’s alumni magazine, Currents.
I sat in on one of Alaina’s faculty interviews, and she handled it with professionalism and confidence. When faced with a challenge, as she was in one interview in particular, she deftly handled the problem without me having to step in. She created stories that not only highlighted these faculty members’ impressive scholarship but shone a light on who they are as people – allowing their students to see them in an entirely new light.
Although I’m sad to lose Alaina as a student employee, it’s been a pleasure to watch her grow as a writer and person. Alaina will be an asset on any team and has my highest recommendation.

Professor Linda Burkley: Lecturer, Public Relations
Alaina is a talented student with strong writing and presentation skills. She brings a unique perspective to the classroom because of her interest in biology and her commitment to marry science with communication.
Her assignments are consistently professional and creative. She is engaged and demonstrates the ability to process class discussions and apply them to assignments and other situations. She has been active with PRSSA and has created an excellent digital portfolio.
It has been a true pleasure to see her professional growth during the time she has been at SU.

Professor David Kaszuba: Assoc. Professor and Director, Sports Media Program
As a PR practitioner-turned-professor, I would hire Alaina in a heartbeat if I were still in the industry. She has shown in multiple classes -- most recently in my senior PR capstone class -- that she is as steady and professional as they come. High quality work is her hallmark. Tell or show her once what needs to be done and step out of the way, because she's going to do it -- and do it to near or absolute perfection. Don't miss out on hiring this woman!
